Alan is professor in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut and a UConn Teaching Fellow where he mentors new social studies teachers and directs the Morris and Judy Sarna Breaking Bias and Creating Community Program. His teaching and scholarship focus on Holocaust education, museum education, and teaching with film.

Emma is a Curriculum and Instruction Ph.D. Student in the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. Drawing from her experience as a rural middle and high school social studies teacher, her doctoral research explores the teaching of difficult history in rural spaces.

Christina is a social studies educator who taught at Simsbury High School and completed graduate level work in museum education. She is a University of Connecticut graduate '15 (CLAS & ED)/'16 (MA), and more recently completed her 6th year degree in educational leadership at Central Connecticut State University.

Wendy Glenn

Wendy Glenn is Professor of English Education at the University of Connecticut. Her scholarship focuses on literature for youth and how story can be used to both foster connection and invite new ways of seeing, doing, and being. She was previously a middle and high school English teacher in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area.

Katy Griffith headshotKaty Griffith

Katy Griffith is a career educator and lover of history. She received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut in 2026. Her doctoral research explored international perspectives on state mandated ethnic and colonial histories. She currently teaches writing and education courses at the University of Connecticut and Sacred Heart.
